Vol. 508 No. 2

Written Answers. - Law Centres.

Noel Ahern

Question:

135 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number and location of each Legal Aid Board centre in Dublin; if it is intended to open additional centres this year; if he has considered the application for a centre in Ballymun; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17661/99]

There are seven law centres operated by the Legal Aid Board in Dublin. These are located in Blanchardstown, Clondalkin, Finglas, Gardiner Street, Mount Street, Ormond Quay and Tallaght The need for, and location of, new law centres is continually kept under review by the Legal Aid Board and in this regard, I understand that it is not the intention of the board to open additional law centres in Dublin this year.
