30 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Health and Children the position of the new community health services centre and nursing unit at Virginia, County Cavan; when tenders will be invited in respect of this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18260/99]
The planning of the community health services centre and nursing unit at Virginia, County Cavan, is proceeding as speedily as possible. I understand there has been a difficulty in relation to the terms of the planning permission granted which has resulted in an appeal being lodged by An Bord Pleanála by the North-Eastern Health Board. Notwithstanding this difficulty, the board is proceeding with the preparation of tender documents for the project in parallel with the planning appeal. It is planned that invitations to tender for the construction of this new facility at Virginia will be issued by the North-Eastern Health Board in January 2000.
