Vol. 508 No. 2

Written Answers. - Share Offer.

Liam Aylward

Question:

81 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the procedures, if any, available to rectify situations whereby persons who submitted applications for the Telecom Éireann share offer through various banks and applications were never received; and if she will make a statement on the individuals responsible for these failures. [18455/99]

Procedures are in place for applicants who feel they have been unfairly treated during the retail offer process. They can contact the Share Information Office, which has been open for the duration of the post-flotation period, or Computershare, the registrars to Eircom, if they have a query.

A review group comprised of Department officials and advisers has been set up to adjudicate on cases where applicants feel their application for shares in Telecom Éireann was not processed correctly.
