Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Noonan – the circumstances which led to a rail accident on 5 October 1999 at Dromkeen, County Limerick; (2) Deputy Ring – the provision of the ferry service to Clare Island in County Mayo; (3) Deputy Shortall – the cir cumstances surrounding the introduction of section 19 of the Finance Act, 1994; (4) Deputy Joe Higgins – the arrest of 15 building workers engaged in a peaceful picket at the site of the new Dáil offices; (5) Deputy Cooper-Flynn – the further development of Knock Regional Airport and the decision by Aer Lingus to discontinue its service to and from Knock at the end of October 1999; (6) Deputy Creed – the need to establish an inter-agency task force to provide alternative industrial employment in the Duhallow region of north-west Cork in view of the announced closure of De Regt Cable in Kanturk; (7) Deputy Belton – the proposed closure of IEC Electronics, Longford; (8) Deputy Gerard Reynolds – the increasing number of robberies on business premises in Counties Sligo, Leitrim, Longford, Roscommon and Cavan; (9) Deputy Olivia Mitchell – the implications for the national infrastructure of the recent decision to allow the objectors to the south-eastern motorway appeal their right to a judicial review of the Minister's motorway order; (10) Deputy Wall – the need to put in place a task force to assist the Athy Forum Group in counteracting the continued loss of employment in the area which was further compounded by the closure of a local knitwear factory with the loss of 50 jobs; (11) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)– the charge of £25 by doctors to medical card holders for giving anti-flu injections; (12) Deputy Finucane – the need to review his Department's decision relating to the means of widows and widowers who are in receipt of a UK pension; (13) Deputy Deenihan – the need to allow for the export of live cattle from Fenit port in County Kerry.

The matters raised by Deputies Belton, Wall, Noonan and Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) have been selected for discussion.
