Vol. 508 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Liam Aylward

Question:

93 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health and Children when national lottery funding will be made available to an organisation (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for the purchase of a mini-bus. [19416/99]

I would like to inform the Deputy that the organisation referred to submitted an application for national lottery funding in July 1998. However, as the number of applications for national lottery grants received during 1998 far exceeded the available resources it was not possible to assist the organisation during 1998. In January 1999 the organisation was informed that it was not possible to assist in this particular case and advised that, if funding was required during 1999, a further application could be made. To date no further application has been received from the organisation.

Following representations made by the Deputy an application form for national lottery funding was made available to him in May 1999 for the organisation referred to.

I would like to inform the Deputy that the completed application form has not, as yet, been received in my Department.
