Vol. 508 No. 5

Written Answers. - Water Charges.

Liam Aylward

Question:

107 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will communicate with the Department of Education and Science to have water charges for all national schools abolished; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19426/99]

The setting of water charges for non-domestic customers is a matter for the sanitary authority concerned. I do not consider it appropriate to issue a request to sanitary authorities to exempt any bodies from the payment of such charges.
