237 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Health and Children the events and activities approved for tobacco sponsorship since 1986 which were not an event or activity sponsored in the State in the 12 months prior to 1 May 1986; and his policy regarding approving these new sponsorships. [19931/99]

I am advised that no new sponsorships were approved since 1 May 1986. Since I took office, it is my policy, in the interests of public health, not to approve new sponsorships.
