161 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of applications made under the youth services grant scheme and disadvantaged youth scheme in Counties Cavan and Monaghan for 1999; the number sanctioned; the amount of money paid; and if he will make a statment on the matter.
There is no record of applications having been received under the youth services grant scheme or the grant scheme for special projects to assist disadvantaged youth from Counties Cavan and Monaghan in 1999.
However, my Department provides grant-in-aid for the Sheelin project which is operated through County Cavan Vocational Educational Committee.
The 1999 allocation for this project is £6,700 and includes a 3 per cent increase on last year's figure.
