My Department operates within the Government policy on civil service numbers. The growth in the number of participants in the various schemes has placed an increasing workload on staff and has resulted in processing delays in some cases. My Department keeps its procedures and its deployment of staff constantly under review with the aim of ensuring the best possible service to farmers and other clients.
