195 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Defence the measure of GNP used within his Department for official purposes; if his Department is using the CSO agreed exhaustive ESA95 figures; if not, when it will update its figures to incorporate this new standard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. GNP figures have little, if any, practical implications for my Department. However, to the extent that such figures are used for official purposes, the practice is to obtain the GNP figures at current market prices from the CSO. I understand that the CSO figures are based on the ESA95 standard.
