Question:

199 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the percentage of each county in the Objective One status areas which is not included in the more severely handicapped areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21001/99]

Of the thirteen counties in the Objective One region five have land which is not designated more severely handicapped. The five counties and the percentage of land in each county which is not included in the more severely handicapped area are as follows:

Laois:

77.77 per cent

Louth:

89.15 per cent

Monaghan:

15.18 per cent

Offaly:

80.25 per cent

Westmeath:

88.11 per cent
