Vol. 509 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

236 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a REP scheme payment has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21447/99]

The application in respect of the person named for a third year rural environment protection scheme payment was chosen at random for a pre-payment inspection. Some deficiencies were identified in the applicant's plan which required the submission of an amended plan. An amended plan was requested on 29 September last, was received on 8 October and is being examined. If the plan proves satisfactory the application will be processed.

Question:

237 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 sheep headage and premia. [21449/99]

The applicant named increased the size of his claim on one of the par cels in his 1999 area aid application to 3.17 hectares in 1999. This resulted in an overlap on this parcel with another herdowner. Both herdowners have been written to in this connection, and no payments can issue until this matter has been resolved.

Question:

238 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 cattle and sheep headage. [21451/99]

The person named furnished an incomplete 1999 area aid application in that he did not include maps for all the land he was claiming. Maps have now issued to the applicant so that he can outline the remainder of his land. When these are returned his application will be processed with a view to ensuring that any payments due can be made as soon as possible.

Question:

239 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when persons (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 cattle headage in view of the fact there was no problem with their area aid applications in the past. [21452/99]

The person named included commonage in his 1999 area aid application, but did not provide proof of his entitlement to claim this commonage. The herdowner was contacted in this regard, and the area aid unit recently received the necessary evidence. The application is now clear and any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
