Dan Neville

Question:

359 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children when a metabolic unit will be provided at Limerick Regional Hospital to assist children with PKU. [21517/99]

Children with PKU in the mid-western region are treated at the Children's Hospital, Temple Street, which provides a national tertiary referral service for children with metabolic disorders. There are no plans to establish a metabolic unit at Limerick Regional Hospital.
