Vol. 509 No. 6

Written Answers. - Third Level Qualifications.

Liam Aylward

Question:

393 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange discussions between officials of his Department and the Australian Embassy to establish the reason a degree in radiology from UCD is not recognised in Australia in view of the fact that it is recognised by the Irish Institute of Radiologists; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21818/99]

Currently there are no reciprocal arrangements between Ireland and Australia regarding the recognition of radiology qualifications. Qualifications for consultant radiology posts in this country are specified by Comhairle na nOspidéal and are accepted throughout the EU.
