421 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the extension to Osberstown sewerage treatment plant; the cost involved; when the scheme will be capable of accepting liquid stream; the date of completion; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21412/99]

The Osberstown sewage treatment plant commenced construction in March of this year at an estimated cost of £15 million. The plant is expected to be capable of accepting liquid stream by January 2000. Final completion is scheduled for April 2001.

422 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the Castledermot sewerage improvement scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21413/99]

This scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative. Contract documents are awaited from Kildare County Council.
