487 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if it is possible to gain access to Údarás na Gaeltachta files through the Freedom of Information Act, 1997; and, if not, when this will apply. [21293/99]

The Freedom of Information Act, 1997, does not apply to Údarás na Gaeltachta. I will, however, in conjunction with the Minister for Finance, be examining the question of the future application of the Act to an tÚdarás.
