583 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has sanctioned the appointment of a local architect to prepare plans for the extension of Church Hill national school, Kilkenny; if so, the position regarding the project; and when construction will be undertaken. My Department's building unit is currently examining proposals submitted by the board of management regarding an extension at Church Hill national school.

584 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if further information has been received by his Department in relation to the provision of lifts at CBS secondary school, Kilkenny; and, if so, when this work will receive sanction. [21336/99]

My Department's planning and building unit is currently considering an application from CBS secondary school, Kilkenny, for grant assistance towards the provision of lifts in the school. The submission of a tender report with recommendations in relation to the proposed works is currently awaited.

585 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding approval of tender documents for work to be undertaken at St. Kieran's college, Kilkenny. [21337/99]

The building unit of my Department is currently awaiting the submission of tender documents from St. Kieran's college, Kilkenny, in relation to the school's application for grant assistance towards the upgrading of PE facilities.
