Vol. 509 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Placement.

Ivan Yates

Question:

586 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education and Science if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be admitted to a secondary school in Enniscorthy given his age or on to a youthreach place in view of the fact he has been out of formal education for almost a year. [21338/99]

My Department has liaised with this person's family and with his former school regarding his educational needs. Arrangements are currently being made with the co-ordinators of the local Youthreach programme and with the vocational education committee to have the person concerned enrolled in a Youthreach programme on an exceptional basis.
