Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

John McGuinness

Question:

609 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if he is in receipt of an application from Grennan College, Kilkenny, for a new gym; and, if so, when a decision will be made. [21409/99]

My Department's planning and building unit is currently examining a number of applications from County Kilkenny Vocational Education Committee for works to Grennan College, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, including the provision of additional teaching accommodation.

The question of providing PE facilities for the school is being considered as part of this project.

The proposal to provide additional accommodation for this school is currently being evaluated in terms of the school's long-term requirements and viability.
