An interdepartmental committee, chaired by the Department of Foreign Affairs, is currently examining how best the Battle of the Boyne site might be developed in the context of reconciliation and mutual understanding on the island of Ireland. The National Millennium Committee has decided to defer consideration of proposals it has received for the site until the outcome of the interdepartmental committee is known.
