Vol. 510 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Board Matters.

Willie Penrose

Question:

112 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that the Labour Court recommendation (No. 16094) relating to the immediate implementation by the Midland Health Board of the correct incremental pay point for temporary nurses at Longford Westmeath general hospital and the question of retrospective payments due by 26 November 1999 are attended to. [22143/99]

I am informed by the Midland Health Board that a total of 86 applications for incremental credit have been received from temporary nurses in Longford-Westmeath General Hospital.

Some 48 of these applicants have had their experience certified as relevant for the granting of incremental credit. The payroll department is currently processing these.

The previous experience of the remaining 38 applicants is currently being verified in accord ance with Labour Court Recommendation No. 16094 and the incremental credit agreement subsequently agreed between the Health Service Employers Agency and the Alliance of Nursing Unions.
It is anticipated that all those currently eligible for incremental credit will be paid at the correct point of the scale by the end of November 1999.
