Bernard Allen

Question:

82 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of non-Civil Service appointments made to his office; the names of the appointees; and the expenses paid. [22784/99]

I have made one non-Civil Service appointment to my office since taking office as Minister for Foreign Affairs: Ms Anne Duke who was appointed as my personal assistant with effect from 17 November 1997. The expenses paid to her since that date have been in respect of travel for which she has been paid a total of £876.01 to date.
