185 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the proposed complex at Confey, Leixlip, County Kildare, to incorporate a library and civic offices; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23090/99]
Kildare County Council submitted a detailed design and cost plan in relation to Newtown House, Leixlip, to my Department in June 1999. Additional information was subsequently requested from the local authority in relation to a number of items in the plan. This information has recently been received and when it has been examined I will be in a position to make a decision regarding the approval of the detailed cost and design proposals.
The provision of civic offices is a matter for the local authority.
