Vol. 510 No. 5

Written Answers. - Farm Purchase.

Michael Ring

Question:

194 Mr. Ring asked the Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the sale price of a State asset (details supplied) in view of the fact it was publicly owned property and should be public information in view of the fact the sale transaction is completed; if she will give details of the company, its subsidiary and the local co-operative society which purchased the land; and the member of the Údarás na Gaeltachta who has a connection with the company it was sold to. [23052/99]

I refer the Deputy to my replies to Questions Nos. 485 and 491 of 2 November 1999, Question No. 220 of 1 June 1999 and Question No. 201 of 19 May 1999.

I understand from Údarás na Gaeltachta that part of the land in question was purchased by a company, Muisiriúin Atlantach Teoranta, and its subsidiary, Páirc Nua Teoranta, to develop an undertaking on it with assistance from an tÚdarás; and the other part of the land is being purchased by a local co-operative society, Comhar Iorrais, for its developmental purposes.

As regards the member of an tÚdarás that the Deputy has in mind, I refer him to my reply to Question No. 491 of 2 November. It is not the practice to disclose individual names. As regards the sale price of the land I have nothing to add to my reply to Question No. 485 of 2 November.
