Vol. 510 No. 5

Written Answers. - Control of Farm Pollution Scheme.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

107 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will allow an extra few weeks or months to farmers who are finally completing their farm buildings under the old control of farmyard pollution grants scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23045/99]

As a result of difficulties encountered by applicants in having their investment works completed under the old control of farm pollution scheme by 31 October 1999, my Department has decided that the final date for completion of works under this scheme may be extended for a short period of time but in any event not beyond 30 April 2000. This extension applies both to applicants who have already commenced investment works and to applicants who have received written approvals and who have not yet commenced their works.
