Vol. 510 No. 5

Written Answers. - Bovine Diseases.

Denis Naughten

Question:

111 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the plans, if any, he has to restrict or prohibit fox hunting on the land which has been restricted by bovine tuberculosis infection in view of claims that this may be one of the forms of spreading the micro organism; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23050/99]

My Department is not aware that the activity referred to is a factor in the spread of TB and accordingly I have no plans to introduce restrictions.
