Question:

150 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 cattle, sheep and headage premia. [23196/99]

The person named applied for 15 beef cows under the 1999 cattle headage scheme. One of the animals applied on tag PTA362676, was also applied on by another herd owner. On 11 November 1999 the person named was asked to submit documentation in order that the matter can be clarified.

Under the 1999 sheep schemes the application period ran from 8 December 1998 to 8 January 1999. Applications received in the period 9 January 1999 to 2 February 1999 were subject to a 1% penalty for each working day that they were late. Applications received after 2 February 1999 were deemed ineligible.

As the application of the person named was received on 12 February 1999 he was deemed ineligible for payment under the 1999 sheep schemes.
