Vol. 510 No. 6

Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas Scheme.

Phil Hogan

Question:

152 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development of Creenkill Lisdowney, County Kilkenny, is classified as severely handicapped under the less favoured areas directive; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23246/99]

According to the records available to my Department there is no townland named Creenkill in County Kilkenny. There are however two townlands, Creenkill Beg and Creenkill More, in the district electoral division of Balleen, County Kilkenny. These townlands were designated as less severely handicapped in 1991. They were considered by the disadvantaged appeals panel for more severely handicapped status in 1995, but they did not satisfy the relevant criteria.
