The Medical Manpower Forum is a major initiative to review medical staffing structures in public hospitals. The creation of a new grade of hospital consultant is one of the items being proposed. The forum is preparing an interim report which is nearing completion and will contain proposals in relation to consultant staffing in hospitals in the future.
