313 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the provision of a new interchange to facilitate Leixlip and Celbridge; when work will commence on this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23654/99]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

A public local inquiry into the Celbridge interchange motorway scheme and associated environmental impact statement took place on 20-21 April and 7 September 1999. I intend that the issues involved will now be determined as quickly as possible.
