Vol. 510 No. 6

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Enda Kenny

Question:

322 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the proposals, if any, he has to further develop the Castlebar environs sewerage scheme; the section or sections to be developed in the next 12 months; the finance, if any, he will provide; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23684/99]

The main element of this scheme at an estimated cost of £4.5 million is included in my Department's 1999 water and sewerage services investment programme to be advanced through planning. I understand the local authority is currently reviewing the scope of the preliminary report approved in 1997 and the resulting proposals are awaited by my Depart ment. An advance section of the scheme costed at £540,000 for works between Marian Row and Linenhall Street has recently been completed.
