Vol. 510 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John McGuinness

Question:

351 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a dealing for a person (details supplied) in County Carlow was rejected; if the dealing number refers to the same file; the reason this dealing was rejected; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23255/99]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the reasons for rejecting any dealing are confidential, and are privy to the lodging party, i.e., the lodging solicitor or applicant, and the Land Registry only. I am sure that the Deputy will appreciate the position.

The second application refers to a different folio number. The position in this matter is that the case has been the subject of protracted correspondence with the applicant's solicitor and it cannot be completed until certain queries, which have been raised with him, have been satisfactorily discharged.
I can assure the Deputy, however, that there will be no undue delay on the part of the Land Registry in bringing the matter to conclusion.
