Vol. 510 No. 6

Written Answers. - Asylum Applications.

John Gormley

Question:

368 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has to give responsibility for finding accommodation for asylum seekers to the Eastern Health Board which has the most experience in this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23533/99]

The de facto position is that the Eastern Health Board acting as agents on behalf of the four Dublin local authorities has responsibility for sourcing accommodation for asylum seekers.
