377 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 413 of 15 June 1999, the discussions between representatives of his Department, management authorities and teachers unions on the position of eligible part-time teachers have advanced; and if he will publish proposals to deal with the matter. Discussions on this matter are ongoing between representatives of my Department, the management authorities and the teacher unions.

When the discussions are concluded, my Department will notify the Deputy of the outcome.
