Vol. 510 No. 6

Written Answers. - Physical Education Facilities.

Willie Penrose

Question:

379 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason the proposed permanent extension to Moate community school, County Westmeath, has been delayed; the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that all necessary infrastructural facilities, including a full size gym, are put in place and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23221/99]

I would like to assure the Deputy that architectural planning for the provision of accommodation at Moate Community school is progressing. Currently, the project is at Stage 4, i.e., detailed design stage.

Provision has been made in the plans for a PE hall. The managerial authorities of the school recently requested a larger PE hall than that originally proposed and this request is currently being considered.
