166 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will make a statement on the development of the Irish film industry and the works to be undertaken in 2000; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [23867/99]
The film industry strategic review group reported to me recently, with recommendations for a strategic plan for the industry for the next decade. Based on the review group's recommendations, I will shortly be bringing my proposals to Government for approval.
The Government recently carried out a review of its programme, An Action Programme for the Millennium, and in that review gave a clear commitment to implement a strategic plan for the Irish Film Industry based on the report of the strategic review group.
