Question:

183 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science if a computer will be made available for a special needs child (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23739/99]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a grant to facilitate the purchase of computer equipment for the pupil in question will be issued shortly by my Department.

Jack Wall

Question:

184 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide a second child care assistant to work with the mild mental handicap learning disabilities class of 18 at Scoil Mhichíl Naofa national school, Stanhope Place, Athy, County Kildare. [23740/99]

I have asked my Department's inspectorate to investigate the level of additional child care support, if any, required by the school in question.

The school will be advised of the outcome of the inspectorate's examination as soon as possible.
