The proposal for a national environmental health action plan which I published recently suggests that the setting up of an environmental health directorate within the Environmental Protection Agency be considered.
The proposed national plan was circulated to Departments and agencies with an involvement in environmental health and to all health boards and local authorities. After comments have been received and reviewed I will submit a formal plan to Government next year.
