140 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the average farm income by category and size in County Mayo for the years 1988, 1993 and 1998 respectively; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23476/99]
Estimates of farm income are provided by the CSO, annual estimate of agricultural output, input and income, and by Teagasc, national farm survey. The national farm survey is based on sample replies across the country as a whole. Data relating to individual counties, and to farm categories and sizes within those counties, is limited and, as such, would be insufficient to provide accurate estimates.
With regard to CSO data, I understand that this question has also been addressed to that office and that a separate reply has been prepared.
