Vol. 511 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Phil Hogan

Question:

326 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will allocate the necessary finance to carry out improvements to the Garda barracks, Ballyragget, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24035/99]

Consideration is being given to constructing a new "basic unit"-type Garda station and official accommodation at Ballyragget, County Kilkenny, to replace the existing outsized building, which is considered too large for present and anticipated Garda requirements at this location. To assist in decision making, the Office of Public Works is currently examining the feasibility of the proposal.
