Vol. 511 No. 3

Written Answers. - Charity Sector.

Dick Spring

Question:

63 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the proposals, if any, he has for legislation to improve regulation and supervision of the charity sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24323/99]

John McGuinness

Question:

340 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when the charities Bill will be introduced; if he intends rendering voluntary non-governmental agencies accountable; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24492/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 63 and 340 together.

I refer the Deputies to my reply to Question No. 101 of 12 October 1999. I have nothing further to add to that reply other than to indicate that it remains my intention to bring forward heads of proposals for decision by the Government as soon as possible.
