Vol. 512 No. 1

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Personnel.

Billy Timmins

Question:

135 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Defence when he will pay the security duty allowance for the period November 1998 to June 1999 to the range warden service at Coolmoney Camp, Glen of Imaal, County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25632/99]

The question of paying security duty allowance in respect of certain duties carried out in the period November 1998 to June 1999 to personnel of the Range Warden Service, Coolmoney Camp, Glen of Imaal, County Wicklow, has been raised by PDFORRA under the conciliation and arbitration scheme for the Permanent Defence Force. The terms of the scheme, which have been agreed with the association, provide that discussions under it are confidential to the parties involved. Accordingly, the Deputy will appreciate that it would not be appropriate for me to comment further on this issue.
