Vol. 512 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ulick Burke

Question:

142 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a grant under the area aid scheme for a person (details supplied) in County Galway will be paid; if the additional area of 2.77 hectares will be included in the grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25619/99]

An over-declaration was made on two parcels of land on the 1999 area aid application of the person concerned. As a result the total area declared has been reduced from 26.83 hectares to 25.64 hectares. However, maps of the two parcels in question are being issued to the person concerned to afford him the opportunity to ensure that they reflect his land parcel boundaries.

Cattle headage payments and suckler cow payments have issued on the basis of the reduced area on 21 October and 1 November, respectively.

The 2.77 hectare parcel of land referred to by the Deputy has been included in the total area of 25.64 hectares, and will be part of the forage area total to be used when calculating any extensification payment entitlement in March-April 2000.
