Ahern asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the transfer of financial resources out of the State to countries abroad with particular reference to media reports and general perceptions that refugees and asylum seekers are sending money home; if he will give figures for the past year of the number of cash transfers; the total amount under £5,000, under £10,000 and over £10,000 for a sample of countries involved, for example, Romania, Nigeria and Albania; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
