Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Deputy in each case: (1) Deputy Allen – the imminent closure of the community women's education initiative in Cork because of the termination of NOW programme funding; (2) Deputy Marian McGennis – the need to put a formal agreement in place for the administration of the free flu vaccine for medical card holders; (3) Deputy Ring – the plans, if any, to overrule the decision by the Irish Medicines Board preventing St. John's wort from being sold without a prescription from 1 January next; (4) Deputy Creed – the failure of the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs to provide funding for Charleville community care and garden services; (5) Deputy Neville – the report of the Inspector of Mental Hospitals for year ending 31 December 1998; (6) Deputy Coveney – the state of residential drug treatment facilities in the Cork area, with specific reference to funding requirements for Matt Talbot Services; (7) Deputy Gormley – the proposal to locate an incinerator (thermal treatment) plant in Ringsend and the need for the Government to reassess the Waste Management Act, 1996, in light of this proposal and (8) Deputy McGrath – the need to renovate the Garda station and residence at Ballymore, County Westmeath.

The matters raised by Deputies Marian McGennis, Coveney, Creed and McGrath have been selected for discussion.
