119 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the length of time it takes for a woman to get a first appointment with a consultant in the breast clinic at the regional hospital in Galway; and if he will give details for a private and a public patient. [25696/99]

The provision of medical services to eligible persons in County Mayo in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. However, I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
