Vol. 512 No. 7

Written Answers. - Coastal Protection Study.

David Stanton

Question:

91 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if, further to replies to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 100 of 6 October 1999, 45 of 24 June 1999 and 104 of 24 March 1999, the further study on coastal protection at Youghal has been completed; the consultants engaged; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27328/99]

I am advised by Cork County Council that the study on coast protection at Youghal, which is being undertaken for the local authority by consulting engineers, commenced at the end of July and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The options and funding needs for coast protection works at Youghal will be assessed further when the results of the consultant's study are available.
