217 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the provision of necessary funding for St Michael's primary school for the provision of a new school at Corcaghan, County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27242/99]

Architectural planning for a new school building at St. Michael's primary school, Corcaghan, County Monaghan is proceeding. When the planning process has been completed, the question of inviting tenders will be considered.

The local contribution for a new school is 5% capped at £50,000.
