Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Deenihan – the problem in a number of special schools with the operation and implementation of the recently introduced escort scheme; (2) Deputy Allen – the imminent closure of RTÉ Cork which has been attributed to the failure of the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to extend the hours of broadcasting of RTÉ Cork and the Minister's failure to improve its signal quality and strength; (3) Deputy McGennis – the need to investigate the abolition of fees for repeat students and, in particular, the case of a person (details supplied); (4) Deputy Richard Bruton – the need to extend the date for the receipt of submissions on the proposed infill of Dublin Bay by the Dublin Port Company; (5) Deputy Gilmore – the urgent need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to outline the measures he intends to take to deal with the growing homelessness problem in Dublin; (6) Deputy Kenny – the decision by Ryanair to withdraw services from Knock Airport and the need for the Government to develop plans for the further development of the airport; (7) Deputy Cooper-Flynn – the impact on Knock Airport of the curtailment of services by Ryanair; (8) Deputy Jim Higgins – the decision by Ryanair to withdraw its services from Knock Airport because of the decision by the airport board to impose a charge of £6 per passenger; (9) Deputy McGinley – the need to provide extra accommodation from Dromore national school, Killygordon, County Donegal; (10) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the need to clarify the future of the local employment services and their removal from partnership companies; (11) Deputy Mary Upton – the urgent need for the Minister for Education and Science to address the needs of adult disabled people in obtaining education; (12) Deputy Sargent – the need to formulate a transport policy which does not entail the destruction of nature reserves, as is now threatened in the Glen of the Downs, County Wicklow; (13) Deputy Neville – the death by suicide of a prisoner at Mountjoy prison on Monday last; (14) Deputy Ring – the need for the Minister for Public Enterprise to include Knock Regional Airport for funding under the vital regional services scheme; (15) Deputy Sheehan – the serious situation of farmers who are awaiting the refund of the 5.5% reduction in their EU farm pensions and REP scheme payments; (16) Deputy Stanton – the collection of post-pri mary children attending Coláiste Eoghan and CBS secondary school in Youghal, County Cork; (17) Deputy Enright – the sell-off of forests presently in the ownership of Coillte.

The matters raised by Deputies Richard Bruton, Cooper-Flynn, Jim Higgins and Gilmore have been selected for discussion.
