67 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath is admitted to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9, to have a lung removed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27471/99]

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the responsibility of Beaumont Hospital in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Hospital to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
